The Truth About Ronald P. Arlt

Hi. I would like to introduce myself. I am Ron Arlt’s (aka Jawa) latest victim. I am the HR girl he started dating at work that he mentioned in his previous blogs here on The Chronicles of George…

It all started back on Sept. 19, 2005. He started as the Network Admin at my place of employment. What drew me to him most was his sense of humor. He was especially charming and could win anyone over as he recounted his life as a soldier in the the US Army. It didn't take long to notice the burns on his arms. He said that he had been down in New Orleans rescuing the survivors of Katrina. He had fallen in a roof of a house that was burning trying to save a life. It pulled at my heart strings…He had a heart of gold…so I thought and was lead to believe.

Then I noticed the glass case on his desk. This glass case contained all of his numerous metals…6 purple hearts, 2 silver stars, 1 bronze star…just to name a few. Looking back I was so stupid. Anyone who has actually served in the military and has such honors would not bring them to work to showcase them.

So a couple of weeks passed and I grew to know him a little bit better. He told me he was a Delta Force Army Ranger. He spoke of his many heroic encounters…Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope (“Black Hawk Down”), Bosnia/Kosovo Conflict, Iraqi War….and he had all the scars to prove it.

He told me he had been married once before, 11 years ago. After only 4 months of being married his wife was killed by a drunk driver. He said they were at the intersection of Park and Preston in Plano driving in his Jeep on New Years Eve, 1994. A drunk driver side-swiped them and the Jeep rolled 3X. Unfortunately his wife didn’t make it. He told me he hadn’t even kissed a girl since then. I was heartbroken for Ron.

He asked me to lunch one day because he wanted to “pick my brain”. Over lunch, he told me about his 9 year old niece Mackenzie, by his drug addict, half sister, Julie. He said that he was fighting to gain custody of her and that, unfortunately, the Judge who was assigned to the case was a liberal and had an issue with Ron because of his Army lifestyle. He wanted to investigate Ron to make sure his home would be a good place for Mackenzie.

Over the next few weeks, this proved to be a tragic choice. The Judge placed Mackenzie in a foster home until he decided if Ron's home would be the best place for her. This foster family had a 14 year old boy and sadly, while Mackenzie was staying in their home, the 14 year old boy raped her. Mackenzie was raped so badly that she had to go to Children’s Medical Hospital in Dallas for a 3 week stay. After 3 operations to repair the internal lacerations, the Dr. said that Mackenzie would never be able to have children. My heart was broken for both Mackenzie and Ron. Ron wouldn’t let me meet Mackenzie, he said that she was too fragile, wasn’t even speaking.

So Ron and I grew closer and really hit it off. I am a patriotic person and enjoyed all of his war-time tales. He was terribly charming and I was taken in by his uncanny humor. He is a funny guy. What he lacked in outwardly good looks he made up for by being hysterically funny.

The only problem I had with Ron was his enormous drug habit. I excused the over 30-40 Vicoden/ Norco/ Hydrocoddone he took daily. I thought he had to have it for all of his war injuries. It was a matter of pain management. On his last mission to Iraq in September 2003 he was hit in the chest with an RPG that didn’t explode. All of his ribs were broken in 3 different places and detached from his sternum. He needed the drugs.

Now I have come to find out that Julie is actually Ron’s ex-wife, second ex-wife that is. And Mackenzie is Ron’s daughter. He was able to tell such devastating lies about his own daughter. His first wife, Lisa wasn’t killed by a drunk driver. She is alive and well.

In the end I now know that Ron Arlt is a Con Artist, Fraud, Thief, but above all else, an insidious Liar.
